INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDIA

Dear skiing Friends, welcome to FIS World Cup Ski Jumping in Kuopio Puijo 3.-4.3.2008.
The first WC Ski Jumping competition took place in Kuopio in February 1995. After that Kuopio has done a lot of work to guarantee the good conditions for the WC. We have now a lot of snow in Kuopio and our HS127 hill is in good condition.

ACCERIDITATION
Ski Club Puijo is co-operating with Lahti Ski Club and Nordic Tournament. The forms are available on our home page. Dead line for the accreditation is the 11th February 2008.
Accreditation provides an ID-card for all the participants in order. You can accredit with same forms in Lahti and Kuopio and get Your card in Lahti. In Kuopio the Accreditation Office is located at the hotel Savonia, Sammakkolammentie 2. Responsible person is Kirsi Hänninen, mob. +358 500 282 505.
Accreditation will be performed: on Monday the 3rd March 9-20 and on Tuesday the 4th March 9-17. You can find Your access zones from the numbers in card.
There will be separated TV-areas, Radio-areas, Photo-areas and mixed zone areas. Check Your numbers from the ID-card. To be accredited, the organizers must have received in advance the required information on the person wishing to be accredited. The Accreditation Office checks the required information. Also all the media representatives must be accredited and have the ID card to make easier to move around the ski stadium and Media Centre.

PARKING
Media parking is on the Ski Stadium. Please, ask a special permit for parking in the accreditation centre.

TRANSPORTATION
There will be a shuttle bus for media from hotels to the stadium and back. The timetable will be published later. You can find the timetables at the latest in Your hotel.

MEDIA CENTRE
The Media Centre is located on Ski Stadium in the bottom floor of the main office building. The chief of media is Mr. Pasi Kauppinen (+358 50 3608973). E-Mail: media@puijonhiihtoseura.fi Opening hours are on Monday 14-21, on Tuesday 14-22.30.
There are for laptops WLAN and LAN connections and also ISDN-lines. You must have a valid virus protection in Your own laptop. If You have problems with Your laptops and connections do not hesitate to ask help in the Media centre. Technical support is provided in the Media Centre.
There are a television screen in the Media Centre and desktop computers for Internet. You can find also some telephone and fax lines. It is also possible to borrow a network adapter and have technical help.

MEDIA SUB CENTRE
There will be a sub centre for photographers very near to the mixed zone. You can use WLAN and LAN also in the sub centre.

MEDIA LOUNGE
Is situated in the Media Centre. Coffee, refreshments and sandwiches are served during Monday and Tuesday. Opening hours from 12 to 21 on Monday and from 12 to 22.30 on Tuesday.
COMMENTARY BOOTHS
The booths are reserved for the companies who have the live publishing rights. Commentating is forbidden elsewhere than in the reserved booths. Responsible for reservations is the Host Broadcaster YLE (Maria Rosenström, mob. +358 400 724 832).

ACCOMMODATION FOR MEDIA
Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi is the hotel meant for the media representatives. Ask the room reservations in the special accommodation form. All hotel bookings have to be sent direct the local Organizing Committee. Ask more about reservations from Puijo Ski Club office, tel. +358 17 2616922.

PRESS CONFERENCES
The international press conference for Tuesdays the three best jumpers will be held in the Media Centre.  The exact time will be announced later but about 30 minutes after the prize giving ceremony. Responsible for interviews is the FIS Media Coordinator.

The Finnish Team will hold a press conferece on Monday 3rd March at 1 p.m. in Koti-Idea, Leväsentie 2.

RESULT SERVICE
All the start lists, results etc. will be printed. They are delivered the Media Centre and mixed zone.
