Simon Ammann took his second victory on Nordic Tournament at Puijo with his amazing 128,5 and 126 meters long jumps. Ammann was really overpowering but just behind him there was very strict competition about the second place between Adam Malysz and Anders Jacobsen. Malysz was just 0,2 points better than Jacobsen.

Both Malysz and Jacobsen were thinking after competition that Ammann is invincible at the moment.

”Competition was quite hard when the weather conditions were a bit unstable on the beginning. I’m very satisfied with my jumps today but I really have no chances on Nordic Tournament,” said Jacobsen whose jumps were today 121 and 126,5 meters long.

”It’s nice that the competition was jumped though the conditions were difficult on the beginning. Nordic Tournament has always been good for me and I’m satisfied with my current shape and jumps today (123; 123,5 meters). I still don’t believe that I could win Simon because he is in such a great shape at the moment,” told Malysz.

This podium place was 50th for Ammann and at the same time the 15th World Cup victory but the first one at Puijo. The winner was very satisfied with the competition.
“I’m happy. This year I was here even better than last year when I was second. I was able to enjoy about my super shape.”
But what is the secret of Ammann’s overpower?
“It’s difficult to say! I’m maybe more confident at the moment than the other guys especially when I’m flying. Nordic Tournament is a kind of dream tour for me because I do always good in the North. I’m quite relaxed and focused.”
Ammann said as well that the competition on Puijo was very different compared to Lahti for example.
“Here it was different compared to Lahti where the weather conditions were stable. Here they were a bit unstable so I had to be more focused and some courage was needed as well. But I really liked it today!”
