2003 IIHF IN-LINE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP
During the period of 12-20 July, 2003 the IIHF In-Line Hockey World Championship will be held in Nuremberg and Amberg, Bavaria, Germany. This is the second time that 16 teams participate in the world’s greatest Championship of in-line hockey. Among the 16 teams we greet two newcomers South Africa and Australia. It is for the first time that we have an African representative competing on the world stage. These sixteen countries will compete to determine who will be the true Champion of the World.
The IIHF decided to organise this prestigious event again in Bavaria. The decision was easy after the great success of last year’s event where the Swedes beat their Scandinavian neighbours and reigning Champion Finland in overtime. A truly sizzling final. The IIHF is very grateful to the cities of Nuremberg and Amberg for their support to stage this truly world-class event.
The organisation of the 2002 IIHF World Championship in Germany lifted the event to another stage and again commercial partners show interest in the biggest, the most professional and the best international in-line hockey championship in the world today.
The IIHF wishes to thank the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB), the cities of Nuremberg and Amberg and our sponsors, The Arvena Hotels, the Arena Nuremberg, Mission Hockey, Sport Court Inc. and Interactive Partners Oy for making this Championship possible.
We welcome you, the players, officials and fans from all over the globe to this prestigious event, to enjoy great games in the spirit of true sportsmanship.
Your’s Sincerely
Robert van Rijswijk IIHF Director of Event Management
